Client Spotlight - Calgary Catholic School District

Evolution Calagry Catholic Center-3.jpg

The CCSD is the largest Catholic school district in Alberta, serving students in Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere and the Municipal District of Rocky View. Being as large of an organization as they are, any change in classroom technology requires a substantial commitment from the School Board.

Our relationship began when the decision was made to begin outfitting new builds with flat panel screens instead of traditional projectors. It was clear that projection technology was becoming an outdated teaching solution, and the District was looking to move to an advanced, interactive alternative for their teachers to deliver their material.

Price matters.

Initially, the CCSD invested in an alternative IFP solution to fulfil their desire for a more interactive learning experience for their students. They quickly realized that the technology, although innovative, was an expensive addition to the schools, and when considering the ongoing maintenance fees attached to the product, it became unfeasible to justify the expense. The CCSD felt they had no choice but to discontinue the use of interactive solutions and began exploring the options that standard television displays could offer.

A perfect match.

In 2018, just as they began making plans to transition their classroom technology from interactive to traditional TV’s, the CCSD was introduced to LOFT. Designed to provide a comparable learning experience at a reduced cost, CCSD found LOFT to be the ideal solution. Not only did LOFT interactive displays integrate seamlessly with their existing technology, the CCSD no longer had to worry about ongoing maintenance fees as a suite of software is included with every LOFT display at no additional cost.

Shortly after, the District decided to move forward with a long-term installation and equipment replacement plan based on the needs of each school. By rolling out interactive displays in a prioritized sequence, outfitting schools that would benefit most from the technology right away, the requirements of the CCSD were met in a realistic and budget-conscious manner.

For over three years, LOFT has been enhancing the learning experience for thousands of students across Alberta, and to-date the CCSD has installed over 350 D2 Interactive Displays within school across the province.
